Raspberry Pi Zero W 5MP Camera: Kit Checklist

Chinneo |

A Raspberry Pi Zero W project often leaves little room for an awkward cable or an uncertain camera board. Chinneo currently lists a 5MP Camera Module for Raspberry Pi Zero W with the option ZeroW Dedicated. The short product description says it has an integrated camera with a Raspberry Pi Zero ribbon cable. That is enough to frame useful pre-order questions, but not enough to publish a detailed installation guide or infer every item in the box.

Make the package concrete

Ask for a current photo of the exact ZERO-CAM-V2 option showing the camera board, full ribbon, connector contacts, and any mount or enclosure hardware. Check the camera's physical dimensions against your case, where the lens will point, and whether the integrated ribbon can bend safely into the planned position. Do not infer lens angle, cable length, or included accessories from a generic promotional image.

Raspberry Pi's camera instructions identify a smaller 22-pin camera connector on Zero-series boards and advise powering off before handling camera cables. That host-side fact does not verify the wiring or orientation of this particular third-party camera. Confirm the exact ribbon before connecting it.

Distinguish this item from the other Zero W listing

Chinneo also has a separate Zero W 22-pin camera listing. Similar titles and the same application do not prove the two SKUs are different physical products. Before choosing, compare the actual sensor, board markings, ribbon and package photos for ZERO-CAM-V2 and ZERO-CAM. If they are the same device, the product pages and blog strategy should be reconciled rather than manufacturing a distinction in copy.

Bottom line: Use the 5MP Zero W product page as the starting record, then verify the exact kit and identity before purchase.
