Chinneo's IMX462 CSI camera module with IR-CUT is a low-light camera for Raspberry Pi boards. It is built on the IMX462 sensor with an M12 lens and an IR-CUT filter switcher on the board.

Good to know
- Shares its board design with our IMX290 module, so the two look identical; only the sensor differs
- The Raspberry Pi board shown in the connection illustration is not included
Switching between day and night
The filter can be switched by hand or from software through a GPIO pin. A simple script can change mode at sunset and sunrise, or read a light sensor. Remember that the camera itself does not light the scene. Plan an infrared light source for complete darkness, because the listing does not show one.
The M12 lens
The M12 mount is a common standard for board cameras. You can change to a narrower or wider M12 lens later if the scene changes.
Questions to settle before you order
- Cable length.
- Your infrared lighting plan.
A figure we left out
The parameter table gives a 33mm board and the structure drawing gives 32mm, so this guide does not quote a board size.
See the IMX462 IR-CUT camera page for the full table.
